For first time home buyers, the first step in buying a home is obtaining your FICO credit score and all proof of income documentation. Your DTI or “Debt To Income” ratio will be determined by the items on your credit report. Although it is necessary to have positive items on your credit report to establish a payment history, Fewer items on your credit report will be a better situation for determining your loan approval and at what level.
